Was it never meant to
be
Was it never meant to
last
As memories swirl
into a big black hole
And forage into the
past
Like sand slipping
through fingers
And water filling
voids forlorn
Drowning in lanes
that break the heart
Cast away to shores
unknown
Yet they churn and
torture the mind
Until novelties are
all it seeks
To drench in
pleasures hitherto forgotten
And cleanse yet
memories bleak
But bygones cannot
always be bygones
And the present holy
bliss
Yet one day this too
shall pass
Buried beyond some forgotten
abyss
